SEJARAH

Bachelor Aquatic Resource Management Study Program (BARM) study the socio-economics aspect of fisheries management,  captured fisheries, fisheries biology and conservation. Bachelor Aquatic Resource Management Study Program was the development of the Fisheries Section of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture. Its original status was Section, then changed to Specialization in Fishing Equipment / Technique Expertise. Specialization in fishing equipment/techniques changed to the Fisheries Resource Management Study Program (1985-1996). Furthermore, the study program’s name has changed several times, starting in 2017; the study program’s name has become the Aquatic Resource Management Study Program. Until 1996, graduates of the ARM Study Program were given the title Ir. (Engineer), then the title given to graduates starting in 1997 is S.Pi. (Bachelor of Fisheries).

BARM’s graduate profile are:

1. Practitioners, who are able to master their knowledge and apply it to the welfare of the community in line with its carrying capacity Able to become a reference for national and international scientific communities
2. Officers, who are able and skilled to apply their knowledge to solve problems and improve the community’s sustainable standard of living.
3. Self employers, who are able to develop themselves and follow their knowledge for responsible management of fishery resources and the environment.
4. Researchers, who are able to conduct scientific research and development of knowledge and disseminate it through various media types.

LAB

Jurusan Perikanan UGM sebagai pengelola Prodi MSP
memiliki 12 laboratorium dan 2 stasiun lapangan yang
dapat mendukung kelancaran proses pembelajaran.
Laboratorium-laboratorium tersebut adalah Lab. Ekologi
Perairan, Lab. Manajemen Sumberdaya Perairan, Lab.
Sosial Ekonomi Perikanan, Lab. Teknik Penangkapan Ikan,
Lab. Hidrobiologi, Lab. Genetika dan Pembenihan, Lab.
Akuakultur, Lab. Hama dan Penyakit Ikan, Lab. Pakan dan
Nutrisi, Lab. Mikrobiologi Perikanan, Lab. Teknologi Ikan,
Lab. Riset, Stasiun Kolam Percobaan dan Stasiun
Kolaborasi. Selain itu, mahasiswa dapat menggunakan
fasilitas perpustakaan maupun jaringan internet yang
terpasang pada setiap ruang kuliah atau hot spot yang ada
untuk mencari referensi dan membuka wawasan keilmuan
secara lebih luas

Vision: 

To become distinguished study program which produce quality graduates and develop science and technology in the field of aquatic resources and the implementation of community service.

Mission:

1. Organizing quality higher education in fisheries to educate, build, and maintain national integrity.
2. Developing sustainable and responsible aquatic resource management science and technology through education, research, and community empowerment
3. Producing graduates who have high competence in Aquatic Resource Management, especially in coastal areas without leaving other public water management, tough, superior, moral, and able to compete at the national and international levels while still basing themselves on the national identity
4. Establish cooperation in the development of science and technology with other higher education institutions, government, business, industry, and other domestic and foreign institutions.
5. Improving the quality of organizational management continues to support activities and services.

Bachelor of Aquatic Resource Management (BARM) is one of the study programs at the Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The BARM curriculum is implemented for BARM consist of 144 credits equivalent to 217.4 ECTS, consisting of compulsory courses of 126 credits, which are equal to 190.3 ECTS, and elective courses of 18 credits, which are equivalent to 27, 18 ECTS. The degree achievements were achieved a total of 217.44 ECTS.
